Tradeoff between DUC/DDCs vs. FPGA implementation

In the context of channelizing one RF output, what are the tradeoffs between using fine DUCs/DDCs in an MxFE for example, or using polyphase FFT generation in the FPGA?

Typically the hardened DDCs/DUCs in the MxFE will be more power and resource efficient than implementing the DSP on FPGA resources.)
