ACE Remote Control From Python - Accessing DataSet

I am using Python to Remote Control ACE. I am reading data from the EVAL-4314FMCZ

Is it possible to directly access the DataSet generated by PullAllCaptureDataToStore?

Currently I have to PullAllCaptureDataToStore, then ExportStoreDataToFile, then read and parse the file.

This is pretty slow. Accessing the data while it is in memory seems like an ideal solution. Is that possible?

Thank you for your help.

  • Is there more information that I could give that would make this question easier to answer?

    Thank you for your help.

  • Hi LeeL,

    Apologies for the delayed response,

I've taken a look at the Remoting client for ACE and unfortunately there is currently no way for users to access the DataStore in memory via the remoting client, the client does not support returning datasets.

One thing that may be able to reduce the time taken for your processing is to use PullAllCaptureDataToFile rather than using PullAllCaptureDataToStore and ExportStoreDataToFile, this would eliminate one step of the process and speed it up slightly, however you will still have to read and parse the file to process in your Python script.

Allowing users to access datasets in the DataStore in memory via the remoting client is something that we may be able to implement, so I have marked it as a feature for us to investigate for our next release of ACE.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention,

    Eoin

  • Thank you for the information, Eoin. I look forward to the next release of ACE!

I have attempted to implement PullAllCaptureDataToFile and run into issues; I'll start a new thread for that.

  • Hi Eoin,

Have you all had time to consider implementing allowing users to access datasets in the DataStore in memory via the remoting client?

    This would be useful.

    Thank you for your help.

  • Hi,

Thanks for reaching out again, I will add a feature request ticket to ACE to investigate this if it hasn't already been generated.

The latest release of ACE has just shipped, we will review the requirements for this and see if it can be planned for a future release. When there are updates we will notify you.
