A2B network that hear sound from a slave2 that keeps sound from the jack port audio in and send it to a slave1

Category: Software
Software Version: Sigma Studio 4.5

Hi, I am beginning with sigma studio and need some answers about an A2B network for tests for an internship. I am using Sigma Studio 4.5. I did an A2B network that hear sound from a slave2 that keeps sound from the jack port audio in and send it to a slave1 and then hear the sound from the jack audio out port with headphones of the slave1. We tried a lot of stream configurations but we cannot hear anything just a "plock" when it compiles and downloads. We are using an evaluation controller board AD2428 WD1BZ, a slave0 that contains an accelerometer ADXL317 (because a project already existed and we did not succeed to make the network work and discovered without it), so after that we have the 2 same slaves AD2425WGZ that you can see in the photo attached. The sound that is in the input is from my phone on the slave2 (and will be from 32microphones after tests) and  the output is basic samsung headphones on the slave1. So we want to know what we should change on this network and configurations (streams or codec xml files maybe we do not really know or something else) and maybe if you have any idea for the issue that we really need the accelerometer target to make this network discovered. Thank you in advance for your time I am a really beginner :)

  • not answering your question but use SS 4.7 and the latest A2B plug in.  While not perfect it's the more stable version/last version of SS before ADI went to SS+ (which you should avoid for now unless you have no choice if using AD2437)

  • Just start with a simple 2 node network, the WDZ as main and one of the WGZ boards and get audio going with that as a way to learn how to configure A2B with SS.  Look at the examples on the ADI Wiki or some of the ones at the bottom of the page here: clk.works/.../  (different hardware but will show you how to do things).

For the WDZ board use the .xml files that ADI provides for the ADAU1452 and ADAU1361.  I forget how many channels they talk to the AD2428 with but if you start messing with that you have to get both ends right and that's a headache you don't need right now.

  • Hi, thanks for your answers. Yeah i also use the 4.7 SS version but that is quite the same. I just tried with a sub common board, the AD2425 (not with the accelerometer) and it doest want to recognise it as a target without the ADXL317 node, don't know why. And for the xml files yep I use the ones that are provided by analaog device in the common folder. Maybe we are missing something with the stream config but we tried a lot of things, I have to work with old boards and we do not really have the choice. I also tried to see on the oscillo if the bclk, fsync and dtx0 and rx0 works and it looks like yes but on the rx and tx most of the time we do not see something. I also searched on the clk.works website but I did not find something usefull for my project I think. If you have any more ideas, thank you in advance :)
