How Can Do Loopback for 32Bit I2S/TDM Mode

Thread Summary

The user inquired about performing a 32-bit I2S/TDM loopback test with the FAST DSP, but the maximum word depth supported is 24 bits. The last 8 bits are ignored in a 32-bit slot width configuration. The user asked if any other ADI board supports 32-bit loopback, but no specific alternative was provided.

Hi Team,

I would like to perform an I2S/TDM loopback test for 32-bit data. However, the current profile I am using with the FAST DSP processes only 24-bit data.

Is there a way to test a 32-bit loopback configuration? I have attached the profile for your reference.

  • Hi Mastan,

Sorry but there is not possible way to do 32-bit data loopback configuration. You can configure the slot width of the serial port between 16, 24 and 32 bits. but the maximum word depth is 24 bits. In a typycal Left justified or I2S configuration, if your slot width is 32 and your word width is 24, the last 8 bits will be ignored.
