SigmaStudio+ : max of I2S/TDM stream

Category: Software
Product Number: A2B
Software Version: SigmaStudio + Version 2.3.0(update4)
Hello everyone,
When configuring the Main node in SS+, I attempted to assign I2S/TDM streams using the Assign tab in the Setting Menu. However, I noticed that the maximum number of streams is limited to four, not five.

When I try to configure the fifth stream, the following warning appears:  (Red indicator)
This issue occurs in SS+ versions 2.3.0, 2.4.0, and 3.3.0.
In contrast, version 2.2.0 does not display this warning when configuring the fifth stream.
According to the AD2437 datasheet, five I2S/TDM streams should be supported.

Does this mean we should use version 2.2.0 for A2B applications?

For verification, I used the following project file:
C:\Analog Devices\ADI_A2B-SSPlus_Software-Rel1.3.2\Schematics\PC\adi_a2b_AD2437A1MZ.ssprj

Is this a known limitation or a bug in SS+ versions 2.3.0 and later? If so, is there an official workaround or recommended version for supporting five I2S/TDM streams?

  • Hello,all.

Unfortunately, we have not yet received a response regarding this matter.
There appears to be a discrepancy between the behavior described in the technical reference and the actual observed behavior. Since this could indicate an issue that requires prompt correction, we believe it is important to address this as soon as possible.

Could you please verify the operation and provide your feedback?

In addition, we have checked the SS+ versions 2.3.0, 2.4.0, and 3.3.0, and we did not find any update information related to this issue.

Thank you very much for your support.
    Best regards,

  • Hello,all.

I received a response through another channel. For future reference, I am copying it here as well.
    ----------<Extract begin>----------
Regarding this “warning message,” ADI has verified that it is a bug in “A2B Plugin Rel2.0.0.”

To resolve this, please manually correct the TX/RX Enable settings for the I2SCFG register in the “Register View” tab to the correct values before exporting.
Although the Tx/Rx pins are not set correctly in the “General View” tab, applying the settings in the “Register View” tab will allow you to configure the desired number of pins.
