hotplug issue

Category: Software
Product Number: AD2435W
Software Version: NA

Hello Support Team Guys,

There are two sub nodes in one of our customers A2B network.

When plugging and unplugging the first one node, an I2C communication failure occasionally occurs. Through the log, it is found that register 0x17 has an SRFCRCERR error. What could be causing this, and do you have any good suggestions to help resolve this issue? The attachment is the log file.

  • Hi

In an ideal scenario, nodes should not be removed, as hot plugging is not supported.

If a node is removed, you may encounter SRFMISSERR or other bit-level faults, depending on how the INTMSKx registers are configured.

If you suspect a node drop, you can confirm it by reading a known subnode register, such as the Vendor ID. If the node no longer exists, the read operation may result an error.

In such cases, you may need to initiate a discovery or partial discovery process, as described in the Technical Reference Manual.

Let us know if you have more questions.
