Need Sigma studio configuration for sending sound to channel 5 of the A2B bus.

Category: Software
Product Number: AD2428
Software Version: Sigma Studio 4.7

I am using an EVAL-AD2428WD1BZ board. I have audio in through the 3.5mm input. Simple music input from my phone.
I have a configuration for Signal Studio 4.7 where the sound is mixed into the first 4 channels of the A2B (Numbered 0-3). That works fine.

However, I cannot figure out how to do one or both things listed below.

1. Mix the sound into the 5th channel of the A2B bus. I think the Eval board supports only 4 channels, so that would mean that instead of using channels 0-3 (4 first channels) I want to use channels 1-4 (so that the 5th channel is mixed in and the first channel is excluded).
In this way I would get the same sound in channels 1-5.

2. Have sound sent only to channel 5 of the A2B.

The goal is to have sound sent out on channel 5 of the A2B. I cannot figure out how to this in Signal Studi0 v4.7. I heard that it is possible to mix in the sound into channel 5 by using configuration in to Sigma Studio and downloading it to the DSP, but there is no intuitive way of doing this.  Can O please get some support in doing this.Is there anywhere I can upload my current Configuration setup (the sigma stdio project file)?

  • Hi

Thank you for explaining the question more precisely.

    Please find our comments:

The AD2428WD1BZ board has one ADAU1452 SigmaDSP and one ADAU1961 family audio codec. Aux data flows through AUX -> ADAU1961 -> ADAU1452 -> A2B AD2428.

You can mix the audio in the ADAU1452 schematics and connect the output to the required channels. One important thing to keep in mind is that the ADAU1452 and A2B should have a matched TDM configuration. The ADAU1452 supports up to TDM16, and A2B does as well. So, if you need more channels, you can use the required TDM. Routing of the required channels should be done on the ADAU1452 itself as in AD2428 the mixing or channel rearrangement is not possible.

A tutorial for the ADAU1452 is available here: ADAU1452 SigmaStudio Tutorial

For A2B, you can refer to the manual on your PC: C:\Analog Devices\ADI_A2B_Software-Rel19.x.x\Docs\AE_09_A2B_SigmaStudio_UserGuide
