AD2428 Chip Version issue

Category: Hardware
Product Number: AD2428

We use AD2428 for audio product , and we make one testing fixture to test this board . the testing fixture with one master and 2 slave,  Master(EVAL-AD2428WD1BZ)---Slave0---Slave1, our audio board is the Slave0 .

but we face one issue ,

because AD2428 with 2 version , 0.0 and 0.1,   the testing fixture can not identify it . we find only during flash DSP and can get the version issue , and can not find the chip issue during the testing.

is there any way to find the chip version issue?

Thank you ,

Alex

  • Hi

Your testing fixture cann't read the silicon revision (0x04 register: versionID) , but the during testing it is working ?
If thats the case then probably you can prob the i2c lines and identify the correct address/values are writing and reading. You can share the details here.

If the issue is not related to this, then please elaborate the issue.

    • Our testing fixture include master node(EVAL-AD2428WD1BZ)) , slave 0 (Our A2B audio product ) , slave 1 (EVAL-AD2428WB1BZ), and we use SigmaStudio 4.4 and A2b software 19.3the following is the schematic , our A2B audio product is the Slave0, middle one .

    • Now we config the AD2428 chip version is 0.0, and it works well , we use  AD2428 chip and the version is 0.1 , it also works well , but delivery this board to customer and can not work . Because the customer’s system with different Master node and the chip config version is 0.0 . So we want to detection the chip version with our testing fixture .
    • So is there any way can identify the chip version with EVAL-AD2428WD1BZ board ? I know during the flash software into DSP and will waring as following .

  • Hi

Now I got your question correctly.

This is a sigmastudio device id check and done as part of software.

You can simply disable or change the device id.

To do that , right click on subnode0 and got to Device Properties, under General view tab-> subtab 'ID'. This will show a window like this.

  • hi , thanks for your answer ,

I know this function , we produce Slave0 (audio product ) for GM , and GM config this page ready 。 so we can not modify this config again .so we must use the correct version chip (0.0) , but we still have some 0.1 version in stock and can not  identify ( PCBA and with coating ready ), so any way to take it  out ?
