After common ground, A2B master and slave nodes cannot communicate

Question

A2B master node, the slave node (Phantom Powered) connected through the cable, the master node can find the slave node normally, but when master node and salve nodes common ground, the master node can not find the slave node, the error message as shown in Figure. 
 Even without common ground, as long as I connect the GND of the oscilloscope probe to the slave node, the same error is reported. What are the possible reasons for this?

Hi Tsing 
 Which are the boards that you are using. 
 For its bus powered nodes its ground is floating ground and its equivalent to the previous nodes BN port voltage. Once you connect probe ground , according to the main node you are shorting the BN port to Ground and discovery fails.)
