ADAU1761 no HP output

Dear sir or madam

I am also using the AD2428WB1BZ slave board and cannot get any output on the HP connector. You can find the XML config in the attachment. The DTX0 output of the AD2428 on the WBZ slave board provides proper stereo I2S signals. Nevertheless there is not output on PIN 19 + 20 of ADAU1761. I double checked all register settings but cannot seem to find any issue there. The line input (LAUX, RAUX) work just smooth. Can you please verify my xml setting of the ADAU1761?

    Hello Marc,

    I just loaded in your XML file into SigmaStudio to see what the settings are using the GUI and the signal path looks fine but there are some issues with the DSP registers.

    The DSP RUN bit is off but all the clock enables are shut off. That will cause it not to output anything. 

    Open up your SigmaStudio ADAU1761 project and change all those settings. Then export a new XML file and import that into the A2B project.

    In the XML the Clock Register 0x40F9 is set to 0x7F. Normally this should enable all clocks.

    I did just look at your XML and I see 0x40F9 is being set to 7F. 

    What I did not see is 0x40FA being set to anything? The default is both clocks would be off. So those need to be turned on. 

    The strange thing is that I imported your XML file into SigmaStudio and it showed all those clocks were off. It might be an issue with the import, I do not do this often. Usually people will supply the SigmaStudio project file that created the XML file. If you have that please attach it. ( You have to zip it up first )

  • 0x40F9 set to 0x7F is followed by 0x03. So there are both CLK Registers written in the same line. (0x40F9 = 0x7F / 0x40FA = 0x3). So all clocks are properly enabled. Maybe I can set the "clock enable 1" register to 0x1 since we only need the DAC clk and the ADAU1761 is in slave mode. I write the XML by myself since I attached this to the AD2428 A2B slave configuration. I cannot provide a sigma studio project only for the ADAU1761.

    I loaded the EVAL-ADAU1761Z example and used the default configuration route IN3/4 to HPout. Even there I get no output. In the attachment you can find the reference files. I used the OSC as MCLK source. I am quite confused why even this simple example does not work.
