AD2428 - A2B discovery mechanism


I am using AD2428 Analog device , in that i am trying to make discovery for a2b node.

Now the question is, do we really need to make i2s/DMA is up or only I2C communication is enough to do a simple discovery?

    Hi Karthik,

    A2B transceiver requires a valid sync to lock its PLL, so to discover the system both the I2C, I2S/DMA port of Host should be enabled.

    After transceiver powered up, the Host should provide the valid SYNC (the input clock to a master-enabled transceiver's PLL) and use I2C port to program the nodes. So the valid SYNC is required for the transceiver to lock its PLL.
    Once transceiver powered, the ADR1/IO1 and ADR2/IO2 pins are latched to determine the I2C device address when the transceiver transitions to the POWER-UP state, and the transceiver is I2Cdevice accessible no more than 2.5 ms later.
    The A2B HOST should provide the valid sync and configure the node as master by setting A2B_CONTROL.MSTR bit,then the master transceiver locks its PLL to the received SYNC signal.
