One question aobut the AD2428W

Dear ADI members,

The last node is awalys exit in the A2B-AD2428W system, my question is that how to deal with the transceiver B in the last node? Can I leave the pin "BP, BN" floating?     And how to deal with the pin of "SWP, SENSE and VSSN"?

Thanks.

  • Hi lefeng,

EZONE page is available now for A2B. We have moved your question to the right category. Apologies for the delay in responding to your question.
For a master AD2428 which doesn't use its A-port, the AN, AP, and ACM pins are DNC or 'do not connect'. You should leave these pins floating.
In similar, for a slave AD2428 which doesn't use it's B-port, the BN, BP, and BCM pins are DNC or 'do not connect'. You should leave these pins floating.
Regarding the SENSE pin, the datasheet describes that "For the AD2420W, AD2426W, or a last in line AD2427W/AD2428W/AD2429W, connect this pin to local ground through a 33 kΩ pull-down resistor"

For more information on the pin terminations are described in datasheet. Please refer the datasheet Table “PIN CONFIGURATION AND FUNCTION DESCRIPTIONS” for more information. www.analog.com/.../AD2420(W)-AD2426(W)-AD2427(W)-AD2428(W)-AD2429(W).pdf
