ADuM5000 questions (CN-0159)

I am looking at Analog Devices Circuit Note CN-0159, the schematic on page 2 uses a ADuM5000

at location U2_C2. The schematic ties pin 11 ( no connect) to Viso and has the note. "DNP R10_C2

if U2_C2 is an AduM5000". The device in this location is a ADuM5000 and I see no reference to an

alternate device. My questions are 1, why is a no connect pin being tied high? I am gessing that there

is a alternate part that could be used. And the second question is what is DNP?

Hello Bootload,

DNP means Do Not Populate, so this no connect is truly not connected, it is not pulled high. I didn't do the layout, but it looks like the designer was leaving room to put in an ADuM520x in case extra data channels were needed, and rather than change an existing layout, he simply did not install the pull-up.

Thanks Mark, I thought it was something like this, but I wasn't getting the DNP.
