Problems with ADIS16265 EVAL Board ...

Hi everybody,

I am just working on the implementation of a ADIS16265 Gyro into my roboter application and a have problems

with the readings of the Evaluation board.

The Board is sending sometimes stupid values.

i.e: I am asking for the voltage of the board and get values between 1.9 ... 4.9 Voltage back.

Sometime, the board is sending for a long time the correct value, which is around 4.95 Voltage,

Which I check with a oscilloscope. The ripple is around 5mV, which should be o.k. as well.

The diagnosis status is saying as well, that it is low power on the chip (sometimes).

It is a LGA mounted chip and I can only check the voltage up the connector of the board, which is fine.

Not on the controller directly.

Does somebody has bad experience with this chip as well ?

Or can this behaviour happen by a software failure. Communication to a other SPI Client is running well.

Is the a test program existing for a atmega - controller, where I can check, if it is a software or Hardware failure.

ADIS16405

Dear Sir/Madam,

In Burst mode of ADIS16405, if i send a command 0x3E00, the data sent out will of same instant or not. for example SPI clk = 1MHz and Sampling rate of IMU 819 SPS, I have sent a command 0x3E00 a time t, then IMU start sending data starting with supply out, x_gyro so on till Axul ADC out. all data are of same instant or t+1, t+2, so on till t+12.

Hi all,

I am Rashed and working with isensors.

As I am very new to this field of work, I have been facing problems in getting the signal processed out of ADIS16407 isensor. Can any one help me with this MCU and isensor combination interface?

Does any one has tried to work out this combination before? Please let me know.

I have got reference code for ADIS16350 with the similar board (TI) but not able to figure out the exact way to process this sensor.

Please help me.

5) connection details are:

Firstly, I tried to configure the SPI-A pins as: P8 slot [Pin 23 (GPIO-16), Pin 24 (GPIO-17), Pin 25 (GPIO-18), Pin 26 (GPIO-19)]

The connections are as follows:

Pin 23 (GPIO-16)-SPISIMOA to J1(Pin4)

Pin 24 (GPIO-17)-SPISOMIA to J1(Pin6)

Pin 25 (GPIO-18)-SPICLKA to J1(Pin2)

Pin 26 (GPIO-19)-SPISTEA to J1(Pin3)

Now my major concerns are:

1) How to configure SPI on TMS320F28335. (i have this DSP and read all the realted datasheets but not understanding nothing). I need to understand the configuring the bits under the registers (You can see my trial in the my_version zip file). Please try to help in this regard.

2) I tried to configure SPI today but I was not able to obtain a '.OUT' file on Code composer studio in TI TMS320F28335 for building the project and running.

3) There in no '.gel' file available in the folder. can you please locate it as I am not able to load the project too. I don't know the reason why the .OUT file is not created adwhy there is no .gel file available.

4) I want to read the data on serial port for gyro, magnetometer as well as accelerometer, plase help me in this regard. I literally have no idea on it.

5) I changed the addresses of all the registers, but still not able to make it.

Please advice or solve my problem ASAP as I am in a deep trouble.

ADIS16407 Interfacing with Arduino Mega 2560

Dear All,

I am trying to interface the ADIS16407 isensor to the arduino mega 2560 board using the 'ADIS16364 interfacing with arduino' code provided in this forum(https://github.com/agleason6/ADIS16364_example). I changed all the registers and made possible connections according to the ADIS16407 datasheet but the results which I am geting are attached here below. I checked with the connections and the code adjustments but still the results on serial port are the same.

Please help me in this regard in advicing what exactly is going wrong? I absolutely have no idea about it.

@Mark sir : Here I provide all the details (files of code changed according to ADIS16407 from ADIS16364), pictures of my set-up as well as connection details which I followed exactly as in https://github.com/agleason6/ADIS16364_example.

Please help me in this regard by suggesting me whats going wrong or making suitable changes in the code and uploading it here again.

AD9910 Eval Board PLL lock stability and output amplitude

Hi all,

I have been using the AD9910 Eval Board. I am using the on board 25MHz signal.I populated the PLL loop filter components. Their values are

R1=43.2ohm

C1=330nF

C2=15nF

I set the charge pump to 387uA. This should correspond to a open loop bandwidth of 50kHz.

The PLL is stable for a low multiplier value, e.g. x12. It becomes more unstable as I increase the multiplier value from 12 to 40. The PLL lock indicator of the software goes on and off as I go to higher multiplier value. I want to generate a variable signal of around 300MHz, is there a recommended loop filter for that. I tried the PLL filter excel file, but I don't know what does those values correspond to the performance of the PLL.

The PLL stability also seems to change with the output frequency, which I don't understand. When I run the DDS at single tone mode at multiplier (x32) and output 10MHz, the PLL is stable.But when I go up to 200MHz output, the PLL seems unstable. The PLL light of the software goes on and off. How could I stabilize it?

I have disconnected the filtered output. However, the unfiltered output seems too smooth. For a system clock 450MHz, and a output signal of 100MHz, I expect to see clear steps, instead I saw a smooth output. I want to use the unfiltered output directly, is there any way I can do so?

I checked the sync clk output, and found that it is unstable on an oscilloscope, especially at high frequency. Also ,the output amplitude of the sync clock decrease in amplitude when I increase the frequency. The actual unfiltered output also decrease in amplitude when I increase the frequency. Is it the characteristic of a DDS output?

Hello everyone,

I have an evaluation board of ADV7180

I would like change my current video decoder by the ADV7180 but I don't get fix a problem with some patterns

I have been changing the settings of the registers of the ADV but I can't remove the noise of the picture

I attach the video with the problem. I'm working with PAL and NTSC. The problem appears in the two systems

Could anybody help me please?

Replacing ADV7189 by ADV7189B: VBI transparancy?

Hi,

We replaced the ADV7189 video decoder by the ADV7189B. Now the VBI data (teletext in PAL signal) on the SD output is not correct any more. Do we need to change particular register settings to make the decoder transparent to VBI data? Is there also a changeover document available?

We already enabled the VBI_EN bit to make sure that the VBI data is passed through with only a minimum amount of filtering. Also we enabled the BL_C_VBI bit to ensure the chroma will be blanked during VBI.

Hi all,

I just ran into an issue, I haven't thought of before, since I considered this as a standard feature.

It seems not to be possible to use a struct like

typedef struct t
{
     char a;
     unsigned short b;
     unsigned int c;
     float d;
} t;

and pack it in a way that the total size of the struct will be 11 bytes.

Are there any ideas how to deal with this?

How to get System Clock Value?

Good day everyone,

Is there a function to get the system clock value? Or any calculations that I may make in order to get this value. I'm using a BF537 EZ-Kit lite and Visual DSP++ 5.0.
